Efficiency is something very sought after but must start with personal productivity. Efficient productivity results from focused planning and effort. This at times can prove challenging. Having your day end without having accomplished everything that was planned can be avoided.
There is a way to improve productivity and make time count, while at the same time making habit adjustments that come in handy in other areas of life. Here are seven of these modifications to some habits and implementations that ensure efficient productivity improvements;
1. Sufficient resources
Making sure you have all the necessary resources for a task or personal program is a great way to ensure the success of the task. Just the way a new outfit makes the wearer feel new, resource input towards a function will also create the attention needed to accomplish that activity. Start by determining what you need to complete the task.
There must be mindset adjustments in some areas of new productivity habits. These mindset shifts will require discipline and follow through. A person needing to work on improving their health, for instance, has to get a fitness center membership or procure the equipment. These resources help with working towards self-improvement.
2. Straying from the crowd to Increase Productivity
Most habits that impede productivity revolve around activities focused on other people, networking or social time. Valuable time can be wasted by chatting or engaging in social media while real life rolls on by.
I am a talker and tend to get into conversations in the office that then take away time that should have been spent on task. Learning to increase productivity I at times made sure to close my door, put a sign up or put headphones in to eliminate the distractions or desire to chat instead of work. In some cases you may need to leverage out some task that can be completed by others and allow yourself to focus on priority task.
3. Scheduling tasks
Having a task schedule and a to do list can help increase focus and productivity. When creating a to do list make sure to list priorities first. Things that have to get done that day. Move from one to the other, do not try to do all or multiple at the same time.
A busy schedule can an excellent way to rid one of the habits that interfere with efficiency. Meaning there is less time for being idle. Just remember though that busy does not always equal productivity.
A smartphone task application that syncs with reminders, email or calendar is a standard tool a personal productivity improvement program. The satisfaction of crossing activities that are finished off your to-do list can be satisfying and motivating. It also speaks of acquired milestones and goals attained towards improving productivity.

4. Taking time to Rest
Rest is as vital if not more important than work. Success can sometimes be a reflection of how much rest an individual receives. The number of hours at work doesn’t relate to productivity. The sacrifice of good health for economic activity doesn’t end up profitably either. I don’t mean spend more time resting than working or that long days won’t happen.
The thing to remember though is if you run full force non stop for days, weeks or even years burnout can happen. If burnout happens your productivity or success can be halted or even backtrack.
After 8 to 10 hours of work, take a rest and breather; or do pastime activities such as a sport, walking or socializing.
5. Staying focused for increased Productivity
Distractions are all over the place in today’s digitally connected environment with TV, computers and handheld devices that have social media platforms and networking websites. Studies show that collectively the entire US population spends 12.2 billion hours on social network sites in a single day. The annual loss of revenue amounts to $650 billion if projecting those hours as productively utilized; this is since most of the browsing is happening on public or private enterprise time.
The student population is also dealing with inefficient productivity due to social networks that have decreased studying time. Consider deactivating or even completely uninstalling social media applications during the improvement program. This is especially vital where time spent using them is seriously impeding productivity and priorities.
6. Switching off
TV can enslave an individual into becoming a couch potato. ( I definitely have been guilty of this.) A Nielsen study revealed that Americans are spending over 34 hours a week each watching TV; which in a 164 hour week is a lot of lounging time.
The notifications that beep for attention are a focused process killer and may require being turned off during the hours slated for productivity. Checking emails and messages at intervals between tasks is more efficient instead of allowing them to interfere with concentration.
7. Productivity and Team work
Collaboration is a very important self-improvement and habit changing tactic if correctly utilized. Join groups that specialize in the area that you are working on to increase the productivity; such as fitness programs, self-improvement or modification meetings.
Teamwork is also a great incentive where a couple of friends decide to undertake the productivity improving techniques alongside each other. To begin something is to have an end in mind and deadlines for goals or milestones must be met; the results of which the personal productivity improvement program can become life-changing.
