I was doing research to get ready to write my first blog post. So many opinions out there and different options on the direction a first blog post should go. Some said your first post should be about you, let the reader know who you are, why your writing and what you want your blog to be about. Others said write about something you love and you know a lot about.
While racking my brain about how I wanted to start I came across a blog about the subject.
This blogger had the opinion that if you got your first blog post wrong then you were doomed to fail. That only by setting a solid foundation of your blog right at the beginning could you be successful. So many thoughts went through my head when I read this.
First, I never go into anything thinking that it’s going to bring failure if I don’t get it right. Now I have failed at many things and will continue to as I explore more through life but I don’t let it define me. Through every failure is a lesson and how we take the lesson can affect the next steps.
I didn’t go into my first driving lesson and become a master. No it took time and practice. Lots of practice, and maybe more is needed if you ask my family. Haha. I don’t go into diets thinking if I mess up my meal or workout plan on day 1 then that’s it the diet is over. No I figure out what happened and make a plan to do better.
Success or Failure
Failure doesn’t mean something is over, it just may mean a new plan, education or practice needs to happen.
Now if this, my very first post bombs then so be it. I will not let it define my success with this blog as I get to determine how that will go. I get to learn, grow and build and hopefully give value to anyone reading.
Second, there is no such thing as perfection. Perfection can kill dreams, plans and the ability to impact others. When I would work on content for my real estate business I would spend months and many hours designing, writing and editing. I created many things that I never put out to the public or my clients because I felt it wasn’t perfect.
This hindered me in so many ways. I was stuck in thinking that I couldn’t give any value if it didn’t come across perfect. I also had a fear of being judged. What would others say if I shared something that had mistakes, wasn’t a pleasing design or needed more info?
Finally through my journey of reading many books, attending classes, speaking with mentors, and really working on my mindset I learned to let it go. I started putting what I created out into the world to share. Not perfect but hopefully along the way things I have created have helped others.
Giving my Best
So with this first blog post and the following ones to come I will give my best. I will share a variety of fun, helpful and informative post and hopefully it will all be well received. If I mess up then I mess up, learn from it and do better the next time.
Is there an area in your life where you are striving for perfection? Are you holding back because you want something to be just right? Whether you are working on personal goals or business goals just know that no one is perfect. Someone will always judge you but they don’t get to determine your future unless you allow them to.
Giving your best will bless someone so don’t give up. Give it your all and be proud of what you are accomplishing. Don’t let anyone put your light out. Keep shining, write, create, grow and be the best you that you can be.
I am excited to get into the blogging world and share my first blog post.
With this blog I plan to share lessons I have learned, adventures I have gone on, fun things I enjoy like clothes and coffee (lots of coffee), my all over the place fitness journey, accomplishments and failures and much more. There are so many things in life worth enjoying and experiencing. I don’t want to be limited, I want to create and live a full life with those I love enjoying things I love. I look forward to sharing.
