We all have days where we don’t feel our best and forget about self care. We have a habit of running and running until we have nothing left and crash. If your like me then your spending your days taking care of your family, house and job.
A few years ago my routine was running around to kid activities, supporting my husband in his Army career, taking care of the house and running a real estate business. I was tired daily, gaining weight, not eating good and stressed.
I wanted to keep pouring into those I loved but I was forgetting about myself. Loving myself doesn’t take away from the people in my world but makes me better for them.
Does that sound like you? Are you pouring so much into others that you are forgetting about yourself?
Taking time for self-care is very important. Think about what refreshes you the most. How do you relax the best and re-energize?
Below are a few recommendations for self-care activities that you can do to change your day.
- Meditate or Pray
- Talk a Walk
- Listen to your Favorite Song or Podcast
- Read a Book
- Connect with a Friend
- Say Affirmations
- Complete a Quick Workout
- Work on a Hobby
- Have a cup of Coffee or Tea away from Technology
There are so many things you can do for yourself. Figure out what works best for you or you enjoy the most. Find something that you can do quickly on those days you need a mood change and then choose some things when you have more time to fully re-energize.

When I have a little more time I enjoy the gym. I try to go at least 3 days a week and I really found that it does wonderful things for my mindset not just my body. When I have some extra money then I enjoy manicures and pedicures or even going to the movies by myself.
The main thing is to not forget about yourself. You are important. You don’t have to give everything to everyone else and leave nothing for yourself.
Giving your best to those you love includes giving the best of yourself!
